Het kunstwerk bestaat uit 20 faience tegels. Het is een afbeelding van Onze-Lieve-Vrouw met het kindje Jezus op de arm tegen een achtergrond van vissersboten, een mand met vis en een meerpaal. Onderaan in het midden staat de opdracht “A.C.W. aan de vissers” en de datum van inzegening door de bisschop van Brugge “22.9.’57”; A.C.W. Staat voor “Algemeen Christelijk Werknemersverbond”. In de benedenhoek links staat in hoofdletters: “neoceram.nieuwpoort”; In de benedenhoek rechts in hoofdletters “M.Bollion”. Aanvankelijk was het werk te zien aan de zijgevel van de vismijn. Door de aanbouw van een extra vleugel bevindt het zich nu binnen het grote portaal.

The work of art, consisting of twenty faience tiles, was created in 1957 by M.Bollion (1925-1997). A. C. W is short for, in English, "General Christian Workers Confederation ".
