Summary[edit]

Description A Royal Navy Douglas Skyraider AEW.1 (s/n WT955) with wings folded at the Naval Air Station Norfolk, Virginia (USA), in 1953. Delivered as U.S. Navy AD-4W BuNo 127953 (c/n 7968) this aircraft was given to the Royal Navy on 31 March 1953 as Skyraider AEW.1 WT955. It lost power after a free takeoff from the aircraft carrier HMS Eagle (R05) on 29 May 1956 and crashed into sea. The crew was rescued.
