Description
English: The Barred grass snake (Natrix helvetica), sometimes called the Ringed Snake or Water Snake is a non-venomous snake. It is often found near water and feeds almost exclusively on amphibians. The specimen in the picture is an adult female with a length of approximately one metre. Yellow skin tones are due to ambient light. Under neutral light the specimen is mainly grey/white.
Français : Gros plan sur la tête d'une couleuvre à collier (Natrix helvetica) femelle adulte. Ce spécimen a une longueur d'un mètre environ. La couleur jaune due à la lumière ambiante. Sous lumière neutre l'animal est gris-blanc. La couleuvre à collier est un serpent non venimeux d'Europe. On la trouve souvent près de l'eau et elle se nourrit presque exclusivement de batraciens.
