Summary

DescriptionAM.126306.jpg	Svenska: År 1976 påbörjades utvecklingen av en efterföljare till det svenska pansarskott m/1968 "Miniman". Behovet av ett nytt rekylfritt och mer lättmanövrerat pansarvärnsvapen var Med början våren 1981 och ett år framåt testades drygt 100 pansarskott av ny typ som så småningom fick namnet pansarskott m/1986. Utvecklingen skedde vid FFV (Förenade Fabriksverken, tidigare Försvarets fabriksverk) i Eskilstuna. Även USA intresserade sig för vapnet och genomförde tester under 1982 där det svenska pansarskottet ingick tillsammans med flera andra etablerade modeller. Vapnet antogs först under namnet Lightweight Multipurpose Weapon M136 innan det slutligen kom att bli känt under namnet AT4. Exporten sker under namnet AT4 (eighty-four), vilket syftar på vapnets kaliberstorlek. AT kan även läsas som "Anti-Tank", det vill säga pansarvärn. Tillsammans med granatgevär m/48 och m/86 (Carl Gustaf) är AT4 det mest exporterade soldatburna vapnet från Sverige. Exemplaret utprovades på Hugelsta skjutfält 1982-12-03.
