Summary[edit]

Description

The Shrikes prefer clear perched of around 2-3 meters from where they see upto 3 feet / 10 m in distance clearly. They find a prey - usually an insect or a small reptile - and make a quick dive and grab it. If the prey is big, they impale on a thorn and eat. Here the Shrike was ready to dive and a few seconds after this shot did dive, but the view was blocked by the bush.
