Summary[edit]

Description

Found this majestic hawk-eagle on the bank of a small lake in the forest. We sighted it while driving when it was coming down on the monitor lizard for the kill. By the time we stopped and got the cameras ready, it killed the Lizard and soon flew away.

Suspect it was during the nesting time and that is why the Lizard wasn't eaten on the spot, but carried elsewhere. Within 5 minutes, it was back on the hunt again - so think it maybe nesting. (It could have dropped the lizard, but that seemed unlikely since it had no competition in the sky at the time).

Thanks in advance for your views / comments. Much appreciated.
