Summary[edit]

Description

The bird landed on this dry twig not very far from the non-driver's window and I could just take one shot before it flew away.

The Bee-Eater generally shakes its prey vigorously killing the insect before it consumes it. Often the bird needs to get the head first into the mouth, and hence would need to tear away the wings before it eats it. Either way, the poor dragonfly had no chance, Bee-Eaters prey rarely escape alive. Though many times, the bird drops the insects accidentally to the ground while tossing in the air and ignores them once that happens.

Many thanks in advance for your views and feedback, much appreciated.
