Description
English: A portion of the Wren Building, the signature building at the College of William&Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. Founded in 1693 via letters issued by England’s King William III and Queen Mary II, William&Mary is the second-oldest institution of higher education in the United States, after Harvard University. The Wren Building, named for the English architect Christopher Wren, opened just seven years later, in 1700. It is said to be the oldest (collegiate-level) academic building in continuous use in the United States.
