Description
English: A training visit for General Executive Sub Inspector Cadets (Trainees) from the 30th C batch of Kerala Coastal Police Academy, Thrissur was conducted from 16 to 18 November 2021. A total of 162 trainee cadets accompanied by six Training Staff visited Naval Base Kochi. The cadets visited the Coastal Defence Headquarters and Joint Operations Centre (Koc) where they were briefed about the coastal security mechanism and the Integrated Underwater Harbour Defence Surveillance System. As part of the training, the cadets also visited the Sagar Prahari Bal (Kochi) wherein they were provided a brief on the practical aspects of coastal surveillance and patrolling by the Fast Interceptor Crafts to enhance harbour security. An organised visit was also conducted onboard INS Magar where the roles and capabilities Indian Navy Ships were demonstrated by the ships staff. The training conducted by the Naval Officer-in-Charge (Kerala) under the aegis of SNC was aimed at exposing the Coastal Police trainees to pertinent aspects of coastal security and drive home their importance as an invaluable and inseparable part of the overall Coastal Security construct. The training visit was received very well by all participants, and they were appreciative of the efforts made by the Indian Navy towards the same.
