Nederlands: Eind 19e eeuw waren de duinen ten noorden van de Westkappelse Zeedijk richting Domburg zodanig afgenomen dat de Polder Walcheren besloot tot een duinvoetversterking met een basaltglooiing. Veel Westkappelse dijkwerkers werden voor dit werk ingehuurd, die op deze foto met het steenzetwerk bezig zijn. Later is de glooiing weer onder het zand verdwenen. Ca. 1895 |
