Description Academia da Força Aérea (AFA) em Pirassununga. Helicóptero Pantera HM-1 do Exército chegando para ser exibido no Domingo Aéreo 2015. Este helicóptero tem autonomia de 3h30 min, voando a 230 km/h e pode decolar com até 4 ton de peso total. Autonomia standard /carregado: 650 Km. Os Panteras estão sendo modernizados pela Helibras, aumentando a capacidade de carga e a autonomia, após o processo de modernização, os helicópteros Pantera da Aviação do Exército (AvEx) terão a nova designação AS 365 K2-Super Pantera. No total, 34 Helicópteros serão modernizados até 2020 . A origem da Aviação do Exército tem como cenário os campos de batalha de Humaitá e Curupaiti, na Guerra da Tríplice Aliança. Ao Patrono do Exército, Duque de Caxias, coube o pioneirismo de empregar balões cativos em operações militares na América do Sul, com a finalidade de observar as linhas inimigas.
