Woodcut illustration, showing the acumoxa locations ofchongmai(Penetrating Vessel) fromJingmai tu kao(Illustrated Study of the Channels), published in 1878 (4th year of the Guangxu period of the Qing dynasty). Chongmaiis one of the Eight Extraordinary Channels (qi jing ba mai). Externally, it passes through theqijie(Path of Qi) area in the groin, comes into confluence with the kidney channel of foot shaoyin, and ascends along both sides of the torso. There are altogether 22 acu-moxa locations on this channel on both sides of the body (see 'Lettering' for list of point names). Wellcome Images |
