Italiano: Aeroplano da caccia e caccia-bombardiere ad ala media montata a sbalzo, con struttura completamente metallica. L'ala è costituita da due semiali fissate a freccia di 40° al tronco anteriore della fusoliera; le semiali hanno un'ossatura sorretta da due longheroni, con rivestimento in pannelli di duralluminio. Lungo il bordo d'uscita dell'ala sono posti gli alettoni servoassistiti e gli ipersostentatori, entrambi con telaio e rivestimento interamente in metallo. La fusoliera ha una struttura a semiguscio con sezione circolare ed è costituita da due parti. Sul ventre della fusoliera, al di sotto della cabina, è situato l'aerofreno con apertura in avanti, mentre sul muso si trova la presa d'aria del motore a reazione. L'impennaggio, di tipo cruciforme, comprende i piani orizzontali a freccia e montati a sbalzo, con struttura e rivestimento in metallo. L'abitacolo presenta un tettuccio a goccia con apertura mediante scorrimento all'indietro e sganciabile in volo; il seggiolino è eiettabile. Per il contenimento del carburante, il velivolo dispone di dieci serbatoi alari e tre di fusoliera, oltre due serbatoi subalari sganciabili. L'aeroplano poggia su un carrello triciclo anteriore con ruote principali retrattili mediante rotazione verso l'interno e ruota anteriore orientabile, retrattile all'interno del muso.

English: This jet aircraft, developed in the United States in the immediate post-war period, was initially made with straight wings, taking up design solutions characteristic of alternative engine airplanes. Subsequently, modifications were prepared that allowed a better exploitation of the potential of the jet engine: wings and tail planes with arrow and with negative dihedral, elongation of the fuselage to make way for a more powerful engine and a different allocation of the engine towards the rear of the fuselage. In this new version, the F-84 was renamed Thunderstreak. In this version, the F-84F was produced in large numbers for the equipment needs of the NATO air forces starting in 1956. In Italy, the first F-84F arrived in the spring of that year and were assigned to the 6th Aerobrigade of Ghedi (BS); other units that arrived between 1956 and 1957 were distributed between the 5th and 51st Aerobrigade where it remained in service until 1972. Some specimens of F-84F were used by the acrobatic patrols of the Red Devils and the Thundering Jets.
