Description
English: Aft view of the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CVS-11), circa in 1962-1963. The carrier was in overhaul at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Virginia (USA), from October 1962 to January 1963. During that time, the assigned Helicopter Anti-Sumbarine Squadron 3 (HS-3) transitioned from the Sikorsky SH-34J Seabat to the Sikorsky SH-3A Sea King, threee of which are parked aft. At about the same time, the AN/SPS-8A radar, still visible, was replaced by AN/SPS-30.
