Object history Tableau sur toile cité par Maxime Rimoz de La Rochette dans l'ouvrage publié en 1847 ː Voyage dans le Haut-Beaujolais ou recherches historiques sur la ville et le canton de Thizy. Mathilde Ovize dans son livre publié en 1943 Notes sur les communes du canton de Thizy en Haut-Beaujolais : Thizy, Bourg-de-Thizy, Pont-Trambouze, Cours, Laville, Mardore, La Chapelle-de-Mardore, Marnand et Saint-Jean-la-Bussière p. 53-54 écrit que Maurice Montet envoya cette copie en 1936 à l'exposition des arts catholiques de Lyon, avant que l'abbé Magnoloux ne découvre dans un grenier de la cure la version sur panneau de bois. Elle écrit qu'il l'a fait nettoyer et l'a mis dans la salle à manger de la cure.
