DescriptionAhMeng,Singapores oldest Orangutan 47 yrs old on her walks.JPG |
English: Ah Meng the female Sumatran Orangutan, Singapore Zoo's most famous animal celebrity on her regular morning walk in the Zoo. Visiting the Zoo at opening hours one morning, I was able to interact with Ah Meng and her handler Mr. Alagappaswamy s/o Chelliah alias Sam, who allowed me to photograph her, a unforgettable occasion. Sadly, she expired a few months later on 8 February 2008, having lived to the ripe old age of 48 years. Many famous people have been photographed with her on their visits to the Singapore Zoo. |
