| Description |
English: Alabaster chalice, original in alabaster (calcite), h. 18.3 cm, w. 28.3 cm. This chalice, in the form of an open white lotus blossom, was found directly behind the blocked-up entrance to the antechamber. The vessel is carved from a single block of calcite and its handles are shaped like the buds of a different type of lotus. Two figures representing the god Heh sit on the blossoms holding the symbol for life and the notched palm rib representing million years, promising Tutankhamun that he will live and reign as King forever. This wish for an eternal, happy life is reiterated in the inscription along the rim of the cup.
Español: Cáliz de alabastro, original en alabastro (calcita), alt. 18,3 cm, anch. 28,3 cm. Este cáliz se encontró justo detrás de la entrada tapiada de la antecámara. El recipiente, tallado en un solo bloque de calcita, semeja una flor de loto blanca abierta; las asas tienen forma de capullos de un tipo diferente de loto. En los pétalos se sientan dos figuras del dios Heh llevando el símbolo de la vida y la hoja de palmera con numerosas hojuelas que representan millones de años y prometen a Tutankhamón que vivirá y reinará para siempre.
