Description
English: Bridged connection channel - This water park and swimming pool area is all that is left of the Vale Navio Timeshare resort which was east of Albufeira in the neighbourhood of Vale Navio. The resort was built in 1972 and included 300 apartments and 95 villas, most of which have now been demolished (2016) after lying derelict for almost 20 years. This time share resort was one of the first of this type of resorts in Portugal and one of the largest but in the end, the whole thing collapsed around 2003 after it had been empty for some years before. Some of the villa survive and are now privately owned. The only part of the resort now standing is this pool area and tennis courts but both now in an extreme state of dereliction.
