Aleppo Maronite Cathedral of Saint Elijah

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The entrance to the church proper from its courtyard. The church has two fine bell towers, it dates from 1873-1823. It was badly damaged during the war, but I found an article (Crux, Jul 22, 2020; by Elise Ann Allen, senior correspondent) stating it has reopened. The bulk of the destruction was done in 2013 by jihadists who had taken control of the neighborhood and sought to eliminate all signs of Christianity.
