Aleppo St. Forty Martyrs Armenian Apostolic Church

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: One of mainly exterior pictures taken at this church, most at its courtyard. I was informed this is a complex that started with the St. Asdvadzadzin Armenian Apostolic church built in 1429) with a low bell tower with a single bell), that was combined with a main church, the "St. Forty Martyrs Armenian Apostolic Church" of "Karasoun mangantz" (in Armenian) that was built in 1476. The church was built on top of what is believed to be an earlier worship place with chambers and a secret escape tunnel, extending all the way to the Old Aleppo Citadel.
