Alfred Nash Van Deman (7/13/1867-6/27/1944) attended the College of Wooster in 1888 and was an attorney 1891-5 and Prudential Insurance agent 1895-1898. He moved to New Jersey in 1901 and became a pioneer in the development of writing and recording machines and automobiles. He was associated with Weber and Scher of Newark, NJ 1932-1943. His name is sometimes spelled Vandeman. Last listed in the 1898 Columbus City Directory at 1210 Bryden Rd. Died at Lake Arrowhead, Denville, New Jersey. Buried at St Cecilia's Cemetery, Rockaway NJ. |
