Description
Nederlands: Alkmaar - De voormalige Vondelschool, een openbare lagere school in Alkmaar valt onder beschermd stadsgezicht en staat aan de rand van het historische centrum, vlakbij het park Oosterhout. Het is in 1931-1932 in opdracht van de gemeente Alkmaar gebouwd in de late stijl van de Amsterdamse School naar ontwerp van architect Jac. Schuyt uit Egmond aan den Hoef, onder toezicht van de directeur van Openbare Werken D.G.G. Margadant. De gunning was op 9 september 1931. De opening was op 22 aug. 1932. Het is in 2003 omgebouwd tot appartementencomplex met negen woningen. De meeste woningen in de school hebben boven de begane grond twee verdiepingen plus een vliering. Eén woning heeft nog een extra verdieping met daar bovenop de mogelijkheid voor een dakterras, met uitzicht over heel Alkmaar. De overige woningen in de school hebben een tuin op de voormalige speelplaats.
