[edit]DescriptionAll about LVIS (8445894274).jpg |
English: NASA scientist Bryan Blair gives a presentation on the future of the Land Vegetation and Ice Sensor (LVIS) at the January 2013 IceBridge science team meeting. LVIS is a laser altimeter used to measure changes in ice surface elevation that has flown on several different aircraft in past IceBridge campaigns. Future plans include testing of a version designed to operate on NASA's Global Hawk UAV. IceBridge holds science team meetings twice a year to plan for future campaigns and measure progress the mission is making toward its science goals. Credit: NASA / Jefferson Beck
NASA's Operation IceBridge is an airborne science mission to study Earth's polar ice. For more information about IceBridge, visit: www.nasa.gov/icebridge |
