Description
English: mapa que acompañaba una carta enviada a la corte por el procurador general de la Compañía de Jesús en Indias, Alonso de Pantoja, en la que respaldaba una antigua petición desde Chile, de fundar un nuevo colegio de la orden para atender y aumentar las misiones. En la carta se decía que los ingleses estaban «poblados» en Tierra del Fuego, y advertía que con ello podrían conseguir hacerse dueños del mar del Sur34, mientras que el mapa muestra expresamente una «Población de ingleses aquí en esta tierra del fuego
