Description Lot-11573-5: North African Campaign, November 1942 to May 1943. Port Lyautey, Africa. This cemetery adjoining the colorful Kasbah Mehdia, the 400 year-old Portuguese Fort where President Roosevelt laid a wreath at the foot of a flagpole from which Old Glory waves. Buried beneath the neat rows of white crosses are the officers and men of the United States Task Force who lost their lives in the North African Campaign. Photographed January 1943.
