A l'arrière de la cabine du tracteur un marquage, voir ici : www.flickr.com/photos/mlq/6200000969/in/photostream le 1A de First US Army suivi de 1XX, le 2eme chiffre ne pouvant être qu'un sept, ou un neuf puisque la "queue" est une sorte de diagonale. 153rd FA Bn arrive en France le 26 juin cependant le marquage ne correspond pas 17X ou 19X, 194th FA Bn il n'arrive qu'en nov 44, 195th FA Bn arrive le 16 juin 44 et il est le seul à répondre au marquage 17x ou 19X. Toutes les indications données proviennent de l'historique après bataille du VII Corps du 6 août 44, le 195th FA Bn sert durant Operation Cobra au sein du Corps Artillery sous commandement du 142d FA Gp comprenant aussi les 980th et 981st FA Bn (155mm) A noter que pour Overlord : le 195th FA Bn débarque sur Utah Beach sous contrôle du VII Corps, précédemment avec le 997th FA Bn (ce dernier débarquera sous contrôle du V Corps), ils sont attachés au 406th FA Gp assigné au VIII et attaché au First US Army. La photo aurait été prise le 31 juillet à Carantilly, 4 km au Sud de Marigny. Notre interprétation du marquage sur le tube du canon : Hé mon pote, Berlin (t')es mort ! La mort étant représentée par le T en forme de " Croix " Le S en gras veut signifier que le son est appuyé comme un Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, le son que fait un obus qui " vole " dans les airs. Hé mon pote, Berlin Siiiiiiiiiiiii (t')es mort ! |
