Anavarza castle tour

Summary[edit]

Description
English: A segment of the eastern walls of Anavarza’s upper city (on top of the mountain ridge).

Byzantine-Armenian work (although predominantly Armenian) from the 12th and 13th centuries.

One of a series of pictures taken during a visit from end to end. The location is imported later, and only at some pictures, I use the centre of a picture as the spot to locate, and not the spot where a picture was taken (the more usual method). Descriptions are based on sources such as: ‘Guides Bleus: Turquie’ – Edition 1986 , ‘Guide Fodor: Turquie’ - Edition 1988 & Personal Visits (by a correspondent of the author in 1985-1999).
