English: Bajrayogini with a cave.
Shankharapur municipality ward no. of 8 Kathmandu district. That is, there are nine caves in the Bajrayogini area of the ancient temple. In these caves of the Stone Age, there are statues of various gods. Inside a cave to the west of the Bajrayogini temple, there is an ancient statue of Bajrayogini god on a slab. According to legend, Bajrayogini's special form is that of a goddess inside this cave. This is why this idol is worshiped as an idol of the goddess. However, the shape of the statue is very beautiful and artistic. Along with this goddess, there is also an idol of Bhairav here. This cave is also known as Siddhabihar or Siddhakula cave. Collectively, the caves here are also called Dhunge bihar. It has been mentioned in Sankhu's heritage and architecture book that the claim that it was considered as a resting place and yoga ashram of Bihar was also made in Namaste Shankharapur. It is also mentioned that such caves made of hard stone are the basis for believing that this area has existed since the Stone Age. In Manjushri Nemuni, under the sub-heading of Dhungebihara, it is written about the cave and the goddess installed there: Two rooms are separated inside the stone house. In one of the small rooms there is a stone idol of Ugratara Bajrayogini Devi. Most of the stone caves also have inscriptions in front, which also indicate antiquity. |
