Description

For October 2011, Anna Nalick booked three performances, including one in downtown San Diego, at Anthology. These shows were to introduce some brand-new songs Anna had just written, and to give her time to mingle with fans before her upcoming trip to France.

I decided to attend the San Diego show; although I had seen Anna sixteen times before, I had not seen her out-of-town.

This was a Halloween-themed show; Anna wore a costume she called "Marie Antoinette in underwear," while attendees were asked (via Facebook and Twitter) to come in a costume as well. (Yours truly sported a 1920s flapper look - and it was a suggestion from none other than Anna herself.)

Covering Siouxsie and the Banshees' "Cities in Dust." Anna had already recorded another Siouxsie and the Banshees number, "Kiss Them for Me," for her Broken Doll & Odds & Ends album. (Thanks to fellow attendee Sheryl for the playlist.)
