Summary[edit]

Description
English: Signed portrait of Anna Paterson Stout née Logan (Lady Stout) of Dunedin, New Zealand. Born 29 September 1858, she married Robert Stout, a member of the House of Representatives and later Premier. She was an activist for the rights of women and children, participating in many social and political organisations in Dunedin, Wellington, nationally and abroad. She died on 10 May 1931 while convalescing at Hanmer Springs Spa in the Canterbury region. This portrait was taken in 1894 when she was in her mid-thirties - she had her sixth and final child that year. See original in Ref: Box-030-073, Hocken Library, Dunedin, New Zealand
