Description
Español: Las hernias de disco se producen con mucha frecuencia en la región lumbar (parte baja de la espalda). Esto se debe a que la región lumbar de la columna carga con la mayor parte del peso del cuerpo. Algunas veces la hernia puede presionar un nervio, causando un dolor que se esparce o se irradia a otras partes del cuerpo. La cantidad de dolor asociada con la ruptura de una hernia de disco depende muchas veces de la cantidad de material que atraviese el ánulo fibroso, y de si se comprime un nervio o no.
