Summary

[edit]
Description

The Antonov 2 aeroplane is noisy, cramped and uncomfortable. It's also a huge success!

This biplane first flew in 1947 and more than 18,000 have been built.

Its' remarkable durability, high lifting power, and ability to take off and land from poor runways have given it a long service life. It's still in use around the world by both civilian and military operators.

As we see here it's small inside and very basic! This fine restored example is at Morayvia, located at the former RAF Kinloss, near Forres, Scotland. It's described as a "Sci-Tech Experience Project" which concentrates mainly on British Military Aviation.

PS the rumour is that Ryanair are thinking of buying some cheap.
