Description
Italiano: Apollo del tipo 'Didyma', II sec. d.C., da un originale del VI sec. a.C. di Kanachos di Sicione. Da Roma, Pincio. Un piedistallo nella stessa Galleria dei Candelabri, inv. 2583, ora posizionato alle spalle della statua, ha un' iscrizione sacra dedicata all'antichissima divinità italica Semo Sancus Dius Fidiusun e nella parte superiore un incasso compatibile con l'Apollo. Per cui si è ipotizzato che la statua, con il suo stile arcaico, potesse essere stata pensata come raffigurazione di tale divinità. Musei Vaticani, Museo Pio Clementino, Galleria dei Candelabri, Inv. 2585.
