En esta parte de la constelación zodiacal del Acuario (el que vierte agua desde su ánfora) hay cinco interesantes galaxias en espiral: NGC 7300, 7309, 7723, 7727 y 7721, una galaxia elíptica NGC 7600 y además el cúmulo globular estelar NGC 7492. La galaxia en espiral NGC 7300, es del tipo Sb (espiral de brazos medianamente abiertos), tiene una magnitud visual de +12,9 y un tamaño de 2,2’ x 1,2’ de arco de grado. La galaxia en espiral NGC 7309, es del tipo Sc (espiral de brazos muy abiertos), tiene una magnitud visual de +12,54 y un tamaño de 2,1’ x 2,0’ de arco de grado. Fue descubierta por William Herschel el 28.11.1785. La galaxia en espiral NGC 7723, hermosa, es del tipo SBb (espiral barrada de brazos medianamente abiertos), tiene una magnitud visual de +11.14 y un tamaño de 3,6’ x 2,6’ de arco de grado. También fue descubierta por Herschel el 27.11.1785. La galaxia en espiral NGC 7727, es del tipo SBa (espiral barrada de brazos muy juntos), fue descubierta por Herschel el 27.11.1785, situada a una distancia de 76 millones de años luz del Sol, tiene una magnitud visual de +10,70 y un tamaño de 4,2’ x 3,4’ de arco de grado. Posee dos núcleos galácticos producto de la posible colisión con otra galaxia, es por ello también la presencia de brazos amorfos debido a tal choque galáctico. Posee 23 cúmulos globulares estelares y se la puede resolver con un pequeño telescopio. La galaxia en espiral NGC 7721, es del tipo Sc (espiral de brazos muy abiertos), tiene una magnitud visual de +11,76 y un tamaño de 3,4’ x 1,5’ de arco de grado. Fue descubierta por William Herschel el 10.09.1785. La galaxia en espiral NGC 7600, es del tipo E6 (elíptica de excentricidad 6), tiene una magnitud visual de +11,9 y un tamaño de 2,4’ x 1,1’ de arco de grado. Fue descubierta por Herschel el 10.09.1785. El cúmulo globular NGC 7492, con un diámetro de 6,2’ de arco de grado, una magnitud visual de +11,5 y a una distancia del Sol de 71.394 años luz. Muy poco denso en su centro, es por ello que no posee un núcleo estelar acumulado. Fue descubierto por W. Herschel en 1786. Desde nuestras latitudes (-37º) SKAT se la ve pasar por el meridiano del lugar (culminación superior) a una altura aproximadamente de 69º y observando hacia el horizonte Norte.
