Summary[edit]

Description

Arecibo Observatory is the home of the largest single dish radio telescope on Earth. Since October 2011, the NSF facility has been operated by the research institute SRI International, Universities Space Research Association (USRA), and Universidad Metropolitana, a private university in San Juan. Senator Tom Harkin (right) and USRA’s Fernando Camilo view the dish from the ground up during the senator’s site visit to the NSF facility.
