English: Arghun in Tārīkh-i Jahān-Gushā (head reconstruction diptych. Reference: Mongol brimmed silk hat in (2017) The Diez albums: contexts and contents, Leiden Boston: Brill ISBN: 978-90-04-32348-3. "The men are portrayed as wearing elaborate Mongol brimmed hats with a variety of accessories, including feathers and flying ribbons, and the high-ranking status of the enthroned ruler is also indicated by his imposing hat, not by his robe. Often depicted as an indication of the Mongol ethnic background in early fourteenth-century paintings from West Asia,53 this type of headgear is also reminiscent of actual examples discovered in Mongolia (fig. 9.8).54 None of the Mongol men in Type 1 wears a turban, a symbol of Muslim men"
