Description

Trompettist Arve Henriksen en de pianist Harmen Fraanje speelden voor het eerst samen op het Transition Festival in Utrecht in 2019. Ze improviseerden, maar het voelde meer alsof er liedjes spontaan ontstonden. ‘Het voelde zo gemakkelijk om elkaar in de muziek te vinden, de stroom te volgen, de richting van de melodie te voelen.’ Na dit concert wisten Henriksen en Fraanje dat er een nieuw duo geboren was.

Arve Henriksen is een trompettist, zanger en componist uit Noorwegen. Hij bracht veel albums uit op ECM en trad op met vele musici, zoals Jon Christensen, Dhafer Youssef, Sidsel Andresen, Bill Frisell, Jaga Jazzist, Mats Eilertsen, Laurie Anderson, Gavin Bryars, David Sylvian.

Harmen Fraanje is ‘een van de meest indrukwekkende jonge Europese pianisten’ (AllAboutJazz). Hij speelt in verschillende bezettingen, zoals het trio Reijseger Fraanje Sylla, het trio Peltomaa Fraanje Perkola, het Mats Eilertsen Trio en Michael Moore’s Fragile Quartet.
