Summary[edit]

Description
English: Two newspaper clippings after Ash Wednesday, showing the ruins of 'White Gables' at Lorne, a home built by Arthur Hollingworth who originally purchased the sea frontage land abutting the Great Ocean Road in 1947. The property and house was, at the time of the fire, owned by others. Eyewitnesses who took refuge on the beach expected the concrete house to survive, but as they watched, the home exploded from within. Top: The Echo, 23rd February,1983.
