| Description |
English: An engravement on the pediment above the eastern staircase tunnel leading to the platform at Auburndale Long Island Rail Road station in the Auburndale section of Queens, New York City. The staircases are located under the 192nd Street Bridge, and this one is at an area that seems to have been meant for a right-of way for extra lanes, or possibly even a former trolley line, but instead has an elevator shaft, bicycle rack and ticket vending machines. The engravements represent two different years; 1929 was the year the newly elevated tracks and station were opened, and 2003 was the year of the major reconstruction project, which included the installation of an elevator. |
