Deutsch: Villa und Garten des Chemie-Industriellen René Clavel (1886-1969)[1] auf dem Landgut Castelen in Augst, Kanton Basel Landschaft, Giebenacherstrasse 9 (Luftbilder der Gesamtanlage: [2][3]). Blick von der Strasse aus Richtung Nordosten: Das Bild zeigt den südwestlichen Abschluss des Gartenplateaus mit einer Bronzestatue des römischen Kaisers Augustus. Links im Bild ist der nördliche Flügelbau der am anderen Ende des Gartens gelegenen Villa zu erkennen. Das Clavel-Gut ist Sitz der Römerstiftung Dr. René Clavel und nicht allgemein zugänglich. Der Garten wurde 1918-1919 nach Plänen des Architekten Max Alioth (1883-1968) im architektonischen Stil angelegt. Die Anlage steht unter kantonalem Denkmalschutz. |
