Avers: Brustbild des Kurfürsten nach rechts, im Brustharnisch mit hermelinbesetzten Mantel und nur halb sichtbaren Ordenskreuz am Band (vermutlich polnischer „Orden des Weißen Adlers“, 1705 von August dem Starken gestiftet); Name und Titel des Münzherrn als Umschrift, links beginnend, oben unterbrochen in lateinischer Kapitalschrift: FRID:AUGUST:D:G: / DUX SAX:ELECTOR
Umschrift und Übersetzung: FRIDERICUS AUGUSTUS DEI GRATIA DUX SAXONIÆ ELECTORATUS = Friedrich August durch die Gnade Gottes Herzog von Sachsen und Kurfürst
Münzgesetz und Münzfuß: Prägung gemäß Sächsischen Münzedikt vom 14. Mai 1763 und 13. August 1772 zu 17,5 Stück auf die gemischte Mark Gold 21 Karat 8 Grän fein = 902,778‰ somit 19,38 Stück auf die feine Mark, Feingewicht = 12,065 g.
Soll-Gewicht = 13,364 g Gewicht: 13,36 g Durchmesser: 33,95-34,58 mm Dicke: 1,00 mm
Münzstätte und Prägezeitraum: Prägung 1777 und 1778 Münzstätte Dresden, Münzmeister Ernst Dietrich Croll im Amt 1763-1778
Wert und Unterteilung: Im Inland auf freiwilliger Basis = 9 Konventionstaler 16 Groschen bis maximal 10 Konventionstaler, jeweils laut Wert in den Valvationstabellen für den doppelten Louis d'or; nach dem Wiener Münzvertrag ab 1857 Kurs jeweils nach dem Goldpreis.
Außerkurssetzung:

Nach Einführung der Reichswährung Außerkurssetzung ab 01. April 1874 im Wert von 33,66 Mark Reichswährung (1.395 Mark für das Pfund Feingold) oder 11 Taler 6½ Silbergroschen (465 Taler für das Pfund Feingold).
