Description

This Auster started life as a Taylorcraft Plus D G-AFWN, registered in Aug 1939. After being damaged, it spent the war in store at Rearsby and in 1945 was rebuilt to become the prototype Autocraft, still with the same c/n and registration. It went to West Germany in Sep 1956 as D-EKOM and I caught it at Southend at about 05.45 (hence the long shadows and odd light) on 20 May 1964. It was cancelled from the register some time after 1970 and I am unaware of its fate.
