English: PRIVATE (PTE) TOM BRAND OF BALLARAT, VIC, AND 5TH BATTALION, THE ROYAL AUSTRALIAN REGIMENT (5RAR), KEEPS WATCH AGAINST PILFERERS DURING THE UNLOADING OF THE AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL LINE SHIP THE JEPARIT. PTE BRAND CLAIMED IT WAS A WONDERFUL CHANGE FROM CONSTANT JUNGLE FIGHTING. THE VESSEL ARRIVED WITH 2,800 TONS OF WAR STORES, MAIL AND CHRISTMAS GIFT PARCELS. NOTE PTE BRAND IS HOLDING AN AMERICAN ARMY PUMP ACTION SHOTGUN.
