Summary[edit]
DescriptionAvenue U artwork vc.jpg |
Brooklyn Seeds, mosaic artwork by Jason Middlebrook that adorns the Avenue U Station on the Q Line, was named one of the best public artworks in the United States at the 2012 Americans for the Arts Convention, held in San Antonio. The artwork is a giant mosaic of flowers climbing up the wall of the station. The piece was created using vibrant glass mosaic and ceramic tile by Miotto Mosaic Art Studio. The plants are based on wildflowers that grow in unlikely places in urban neighborhoods, through cracks in the sidewalks, and in alleys and along walls.
