Description
Français : Béthune (France - Pas-de-Calais ) - Bastion Saint-Pry, Angle de la rue Saint-Pry et du Bd.Vauban.
Sa redécouverte date des fouilles effectuées en 1992, après la destruction d'un hôpital ; les archéologues ayant mis à jour des vestiges d'un ancien ouvrage militaire édifié entre 1496 et 1517.
À cette époque la Ville -en pleine expansion économique- souhaite renforcer sa défense militaire en améliorant les fortifications car les rumeurs de guerre plane régulièrement. Le front Sud doit être réparé et modernisé et un boulevard doit être construit au niveau de la porte Saint-Pry.
