Español: La bandera del municipio de la plata fue escogida de un concurso convocado por el centro xxx. Consta de dos franjas: asul significa el color permanente del firmamento y lo ideales altruistas del plateño; y el blanco como metas de etica y moral del habitante del municipio y las minas de plata que dan origen al nombre. igualmente sobrepuestas se encuentran las montañas, que representan la situacon ubicada en las estribaciones de la cordillera central y la exuberancia de sus tierras. sobre las montañas hay cinco estrellas de color rojo, significado con ello las distintas luchas historicas acaeciadas en su suelo, desde la rebelion aborigen y las batallas libertadoras. fue adoptada mediante el decreto 048 de octubre 12 de 1977.
