Description
Nederlands: De wijk Oranje Nassaukwartier werd gezamenlijk gebouwd door de voormalige woningbouwverenigingen Sint Johannes de Doper en Beter Wonen. Daar waar het rijtje van de ene woningbouwvereniging over gaat in dat van de andere is de gevelsteen ingemetseld. Hierop staan de namen van de woningbouwverenigingen en twee mannen die elkaar de hand reiken. Dit symboliseert de toenadering tussen beide woningbouwverenigingen (r.-k.en neutraal) en dat de onderlinge belangenstrijd was bijgelegd. Hier wordt kentering van verzuild Nederland – in de vorige eeuw – zichtbaar, het ging niet van harte maar het werd een pure (economische) noodzaak.
