Summary[edit]

Description

This is a 50 m flare stack used to burn the lean gas generated at the start & end of each cycle of the steelmaking process. The gas burned is low calorific value Carbon Monoxide. Once the gas reaches a useable quality it is collected in a holder for use later. When the flare is operating it is possible to feel the heat.
