Description

Today Queen Elizabeth II became the longest serving Queen in UK history. overtaking Queen Victoria who had reigned for 23,226 days, or 63 years, seven months and two days. This image is of the post office tower ( BT Tower) in central London displaying a message "Long may she reign" The 627 ft tower is sometimes used for to display messages such as the Olympics etc..

As part of the tributes and celebrations - the day the record was broken, a flotilla of small boats made the journey along the River Thames in central London. The Queen was not present at the celebration as she was opening a new railway line in Scotland.
