| Description | I am done with the Tenryu-ji temple now (see previous pictures earlier in this album). Back outside, this is the Togetsukyo Bridge (or Moon Crossing Bridge) - another well known, central landmark of Arashiyama. Many small shops, restaurants, and other attractions are found nearby, including the Tenry-ji Temple that I just mentioned, Arashiyama's famous bamboo grove/ forest and other period shops and establishments. On the river which the bridge spans are said to be pleasure boats for rent but I could not spot any. Across the bridge are more attractions- temples, a shopping street and a monkey forest up a hill. Well, that would have been a repeat of what I was to see in a moment, and the monkey forest would have meant another strenuous trek up a hill, and wouldn't be much different from the Ubud monkey forest in Bali, Indonesia which I had covered in detail just a few months earlier, in terms of the species of monkey at least, so I decided to call it quits here and head on to my next destination, the Kyoto Railway Museum (photos later on in this album, soon after this).
